Flexible Dentures

flexible dentures

The so-called flexible denture is a removable prosthesis (it is not fixed in the mouth, is taken by the patient is cleaned every time) partial (replaces some teeth) or total (complete) (replaces all teeth.)
The material used to construct a different colored translucent nylon similar to the gum.

Removable partial prostheses in the oral cavity retenerce should use fasteners (hooks in popular parlance) on the teeth. These retainers in other types of removable dentures (acrylic and chrome cobalt) are metal, thus unsightly, they are.

The flexible denture retainers instead have the same material (nylon translucent gum color) that is built in its entirety, be more esthetic than metal retainer. How to have healthy teeth

healthy teeth

Good oral hygiene is transmitted in a healthy and beautiful smile. And to wear it in all its glory, we must be clear what the guidelines are good dental cleaning and protection.

• Rinsing is toothpaste complement but not replace it. This is because bacteria can not remove the brush itself, because it reaches the entire area of the teeth and mouth.

• The “whitening” do not change the color of teeth. Just remove existing stains. So if it is naturally white, will continue in that color. And just a darker, but evenly.

• The most important times to brush are in the morning and evening. But we must avoid doing at least immediately after eating citrus fruits, and would remove the enamel damaged by acids.

• The sparkling water dissolves the tooth enamel, due to its composition of carbonic acid. However, fluoridated water reduces tooth decay and improve dental hygiene.

• Apart from being a possible sign of disease, dry mouth can damage teeth and be a sign of bad breath. Cause of this happening is a lack of saliva, which would prevent passing the remains of food and neutralize the acid.

• An excessive brushing wears away the enamel and the tooth surface. So do not do it for more than two minutes and a circular motion.

Tooth Care: Dental Sealants

A good dental care including oral hygiene with a good tooth brushing and flossing, using fluoride toothpastes, food with low levels of sugar and a good serving of milk (rich in calcium) and course, a periodic visit to the dentist.

Dental Sealants

Dental sealants, also known as sealants are thin plastic coatings that are placed on teeth to form a protective cover against cavities. The teeth of the children have small grooves that can not always be cleaned with a toothbrush, sealants cover these grooves and avoid becoming food particles and germs.

It is a liquid applied on the wheel, the same which hardens quickly without causing discomfort or pain. The sealant protects wheels for up to 10 years, but always need to be reviewed to ensure that it is in good condition, otherwise apply more sealant.

Should apply only the child gets his permanent teeth, usually by 6 years of age, in some cases, dentists also apply the sealant in primary teeth with deep grooves. In case the child has a small cavity, and it has been applied over the sealer, there will be problem since the seal insulated against it and the germs will not spread.
