Dairy products help prevent cavities

A good routine oral hygiene practices in the prevention and drinking milk daily helps to have strong teeth and may reduce dental visits, experts say dental care. A report of the School of Dentistry, University of California, Los Angeles, states that the calcium in milk helps build strong teeth and may prevent cavities.

The milk gives oral health

According to a 2006 report by the Dental Health Foundation, in kindergarten, more than half of children have tooth decay and the time they reach third grade, that figure rises to 70 percent.

The dentist Karen Becerra, president of the Hispanic Dental Association in San Diego 2009-2010, says that milk, and contribute to the formation of tooth enamel, it also contains many proteins that are important for oral health. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children receive at least three glasses of milk (eight ounce serving) and / or milk products daily. Either skim milk or whole milk, all contained the same amount of calcium.

Hence the importance of promoting milk consumption in children because studies show that toothbrushes and toothpaste alone are not enough to get that perfect smile.

“The casein (contained in milk) can prevent the bacteria that causes cavities to adhere to the tooth surface and serum proteins, the lacto-whooping, lysozyme and antibodies are also found in milk, may promote oral health through their strong antibacterial activities, “says Dr. Becerra.
